I've received the description for the cable, as well as the following *** W A R N I N G *** by Mail. Firstly, the warning: I was just looking at your site and come upon the simple serial cable. Without thoroughly checking which pin goes to where I suspect that this configuration could potentially damage the PC-E500. The IBM -PC outputs plus and minus 10 volt signals on its RS232 connector. The logic levels of the PC-E500 are 0Volts and 5 or 6 volts. If voltages above the supply voltage (5 or 6 volts) or below ground are input into the PC-E500 inputs damage could occur to the input chip. In the file pc-link.tar.gzip, the file rs232-12.doc and rs232-12.txt are the same file with different names. If you feel so inclined, one could be deleted. If I find anything else I'll let you know. Andrew Woods OK, If you do not believe him, you may have a look at the setup, but BE CAREFULL AND ONLY TEST IT, IF YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE!!! (Sorry I can't say anything, because my knowledge in ElectricalEngineering is nearly -\infty!) If YOU have any idea and suggestions, please mail me immediately!!!! AGAIN: I'VE GOT A MAIL, THAT THIS SETUP COULD DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER! #################################################################### SHARP (15 pin) PC (9 pin) 2 2 3 3 11 6 5 4 7 5 / 7 (these should be \ 8 connected together) THERE COMES **NO** GUARANTEE WITH THIS SETUP!!!
