Location of the group

These are some geographical explanations and useful hints how to get to the group for visitors and partners coming from abroad. The group is located at:

The best way to get here by using public transport is to travel by the vienna subway, the U-Bahn (here is a subway network map). Fortunately the Karlsplatz station is a U-Bahn hub, so three of the subway lines meet here.

How to get from the Karlsplatz U-Bahn station to the group

To get from the U-Bahn station Karlsplatz to the group follow the presented graphical guide. It shows some of the buildings of the TUV campus at the Karlsplatz.

Leave the U-Bahn to exit Karlsplatz resp. Resselpark. There you enter a nice park which hosts some monuments of famous Austrian technicians in front of the main building of the Technical University of Vienna as well as a Cafe, a small pond and, of course, the beautiful church of St. Charles Boromeo (Karlskirche). There are some who consider the magnificent St.Charles Boromeo with it's green copula one of the finest examples of baroque architecture of Europe.

Follow the front wall of the old building of the Technical University to the Karlskirche. Walk into Argentinierstraße on the right side of the Karlskirche. The building where the arrow points to at the map above, actually situated at the corner Argentinierstraße and Paniglgasse is the group's home. You will find us in the third floor.

How to get to Karlsplatz

Now you know, how to find the group from the subway station, but how do you reach Karlsplatz? Well, this depends on where you are coming from and how you prefer to travel.

Travelling by airplane

From the Vienna International Airport you may take a taxi or use the Schnellbahn S7 to the Wien Mitte station and from there by subway U4 in the Hütteldorf direction to Karlsplatz.

Travelling by train

Trains arrive at Westbahnhof or at Südbahnhof. Both stations are directly connected to the Vienna subway network (U-Bahn).

• from Westbahnhof you should take the U3 in the Erdberg direction to the Volkstheater station. From there, take the U2 for two stations in the Karlsplatz direction to reach Karlsplatz.
• from Südbahnhof you take the U1 in Zentrum Kagran direction to Karlsplatz.

Driving by car

Drive to the next official tourist information office (also room reservations):

• from West: Westautobahn A1, Wien-Auhof motorway station, whole week till October: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., November: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., December to March: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• from South: A2 Südautobahn, exit Zentrum, Triester Straße, whole week till June and October: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., July to September: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• from North Floridsdorfer Brücke/Donauinsel on the North Entrance (Nord-Einfahrt), whole week till September: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
