A Really Short Version of Me

ATTENTION: Since September 1st (2015) I moved to the Software Engineering Chair at the Saarland University.

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Distributed System Group (DSG) led by Univ. Prof. Schahram Dustdar.

Formerly, I was visiting the group supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) under the “Fellowship for Prospective Researches” contract PBTIP2-142337.

I got my Ph.D. from the Universita della Svizzera Italiana (a.k.a. University of Lugano); my Ph.D. research developed in the context of the S.T.A.R Group under the supervision of Prof. Mauro Pezzè.

During my Ph.D. I worked mostly towards the application of Software Engineering approaches to Autonomic Computing and Cloud computing. My research focused on the design of controllers that dynamically scale virtualized applications to preserve their QoS while minimizing their operational costs, and was applied in the context of Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

The thesis manuscript can be downloaded from the Web site of the University of Lugano (here), and a nice summary of its main contributions can be also found in this paper.

Current Research

My current research interests revolve around design, modeling, testing, verification, and validation of Elastic Computing Systems in the Cloud. I am always looking for collaborations, research and project partners, as well as master students (limited to TUV for now), so do not be afraid and contact me !
