Biographical Sketch

Born and brought up in TuyHoa, VietNam, currently I am an assistant professor at Distributed Systems Group, Institute of Information Systems, Vienna University of Technology, where I was a senior research scientist from March 2007 till April 2013. From March 2005 to February 2007, I was a postdoctoral research scientist at Distributed and Parallel Systems Group, University of Innsbruck. From Nov 2000 to February 2005, I was a researcher at Software Science Group, Institute for Scientific Computing, University of Vienna. Before that, I worked as an assistant lecturer and a researcher in Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, HCMC University of Technology, Vietnam from 1998 to 2000.

I received a university degree of engineer in computer science and engineering in 1998, from HoChiMinh City University of Technology, and a PhD in computer science in 2005 and a Habilitation in practical computer science in 2013, both from Vienna University of Technology.

Research Interests

My research interests are various fields pertained to distributed and parallel systems with an applied, systems-oriented focus. My main research interest focuses on obtaining an understanding of the behaviour and quality of distributed and parallel applications and systems through monitoring and analysis. My research has been applied to: Performance Analysis Techniques and Tools for Distributed and Parallel Systems, Parallel Processing and Grid Computing, Internet Technologies and Web Services, Workflows and Collaborative Computing, Autonomic Computing and Context-Awareness. Furthermore, i am interested in (free) ICT solutions for (under) developing countries.
